Innovation Meets Cytology; A Clinical Pathologist Can Now Remote Into Your Clinic’s Microscope.

This lecture covers the workflow of an innovative technology that enables a clinical pathologist to remotely control all functionality of a pathology grade microscope and consult in real time with the clinician, while the patient is still in the clinic. Sample collection and preparation from clinical cases including routine cytology, fine needle aspirates of internal masses , body cavity fluids, blood smears and urinalysis amongst others are discussed. A preliminary diagnosis can be available within 30 min of sample submission. This technology helps clinicians improve patients’ outcomes by partnering with a clinical pathologist in real time.
