Manage Weight Loss, Control Anemia: Key Factors in Feline CKD Management (Elanco) - Evening Session

Managing feline CKD requires careful attention to secondary issues such as hyporexia and anemia. In this lecture, we will review the causes and impact of poor food intake and compromised erythropoiesis in cats with renal insufficiency, and propose strategies to mitigate these common complications. Appetite stimulants such as capromorelin and mirtazapine will be discussed, and information about molidustat, a novel treatment for CKD-associated anemia, will be presented.
