In this 1-hour lecture, attendees will delve into the fundamentals of computed tomography (CT) as an advanced diagnostic tool for dogs and cats. The session will cover key topics, including indications for CT, appropriate case selection, imaging principles, anatomical techniques, and the steps necessary for obtaining high-quality diagnostic CT scans. Special attention will be given to the enhanced diagnostic insights CT provides compared to traditional radiographs and ultrasound. A case-based approach will highlight these areas, focusing on case selection, indications, and basic image interpretation (anatomy and diagnostic quality). Diseases discussed will include, but are not limited to, spinal conditions, nasal disease, lung nodules/tumors, and splenic/liver tumors
