Information
Oncologists have been harnessing the power of gold nanoparticles used in combination with infrared laser for the ablation of certain types of tumors with less pain, shorter recovery times, and good results compared with other commonly used treatments. In this lecture, Dr. Schmidt will review the use of this technology for treatment of low grade mast cell tumors in dogs. He will also review recent literature on the use of photobiomodulation in oncology patients to manage common clinical conditions in this patient population, such as GI side effects from chemotherapy, diarrhea and cystitis, as well as sharing some clinical cases from his practice.
