Information
Chronic conditions like kidney disease and lymphoma make up a significant portion of visits, yet every patient and pet family are unique and could benefit from a personalized care plan. This presentation utilizes a case-based approach to demonstrate how evidence-based medicine can be paired with pet family-centered communication to help teams tailor recommendations across the spectrum of care. Participants will level-up their navigation of difficult conversations with pet parents, applying proven clinical empathy and nonjudgmental communication strategies, incorporating breed-specific risks based on the latest data, and developing care plans that align with each pet family’s goals and finances.
