Information

Chronic pancreatitis (CP) in dogs is far more prevalent than commonly appreciated and is often under-diagnosed due to its subtle, waxing-and-waning clinical presentation and diagnostic challenges. In this session will provide a practical, evidence-based overview of chronic pancreatitis in dogs, with emphasis on clinical recognition, diagnostic strategy, and management. Attendees will learn how to identify chronic disease using an integrated approach, manage risk factors to reduce recurrence, and recognize and treat secondary complications such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and diabetes mellitus. By the end of the session, veterinarians will be better equipped to recognize and manage this overlooked but clinically significant disease.
