Information

Stem cell therapy is increasingly being investigated for a wide range of inflammatory and degenerative diseases in both humans and animals. With the first FDA-conditionally approved, off-the-shelf stem cell therapy expected in veterinary medicine by 2026, it is important for veterinarians to be prepared. This lecture will cover the fundamentals of stem cell therapy, including where stem cells come from and how they modulate the immune system and support tissue repair. We will address common misconceptions about stem cells and explain how they differ from other drugs. Veterinarians will leave with practical tools to help them confidently explain stem cell therapy and its potential benefits to pet owners.
