This lecture will review the pathophysiology of anemia of chronic kidney disease and its treatment. The role of iron supplementation and deciding how best to treat anemia will be discussed using case examples. The risks and benefits of darbepoetin and molidustat will be presented, and practical case management strategies be discussed for both.
